Wendy Hinman will present two seminars during the festival.
On Saturday September 12th at 9:30 am: Cruising Without Refrigeration in the Olympic Room:
When boating, you are faced with either no refrigeration or a cold box so tiny or unreliable that you have to make tough choices. Wendy Hinman will share tips and tricks she learned while cruising for 7 years without modern conveniences.

On Sunday September 13th at 9:30 am: 7 years on a 31-footer and still married! in the Discovery Room:
A happy crew makes for a happy voyage. Wendy Hinman, author of Tightwads on the Loose: A Seven Year Pacific Odyssey will share the wisdom she gathered during her 7 years aboard her 31 foot cutter with her husband, and offer tips on how to balance diverse personalities and needs aboard. Find out how Wendy and Garth sailed 34,000 miles and remained sane and innocent of plotting murder or divorce, despite facing many “character-building opportunities” along the way. Featuring photos and stories from their epic adventure.

Speaker Bio:
Wendy Hinman, author of Tightwads on the Loose, spent seven years at sea sailing 34,000 miles aboard her 31 foot cutter. After paying off their mortgage before they turned 40, Wendy and her husband, Garth Wilcox, set sail on an open ended journey that took them to 19 countries. They lived without many modern conveniences but discovered what was most important was working as a team and keeping a sense of humor. Before her seven-year voyage, Wendy taught sailing, raced and cruised extensively in the Pacific Northwest, as well as the Hawaiian Islands, Chesapeake Bay, Southern California, Greece, and the Caribbean. Tightwads on the Loose, a lighthearted take on their adventures afloat, has been a best seller and selected as a top travel book. For more information, visit http://www.wendyhinman.com/

In addition to her presentations, Wendy Hinman will be signing books at the author tent.
